I like that all these photographers use color to the best advantage in their projects, emphasizing the point they are trying to print across our eyes. Specifically, I enjoyed Ana Dominguez’s play on something as simple as bread and using it to build a small structure of meaning. On Henry Hargreaves’s and Vanessa Dualib’s project, I enjoyed the use of color to portray the life of food itself. Katie Cornwell’s photography is the most diverse on this contact sheet, but I enjoy the use of black versus white to attract a single, direct focus point. I will try to use some aspect of all these in my own project, adding pops of color where possible yet keeping the food as the focus point throughout the photography shoot.
